On my shoots I often use Zello, a smartphone application that has the same functionality as Walkie Talkies but works over the internet (WIFI or 2/3/4/5G).
It’s free and anybody can join in on the conversation on set. Follow the procedure below and let me know you will join in.

The "Zello PTT walkie talkie" app is one of the most popular free 2-way simplex communications applications used on Network Radios and mobile telephones. Most Network Radio hardware is produced with various versions of the Android operating system but the Zello PTT app is also available for Apple iOS devices.
As long as you have cellular or WIFI connection this will work.
No matter the distance.

NC WHPH Zello channel
Download the Zello app (see link above) and create an account or use the account that I provided to you.
Login, go to channels press add and scan the QR code on the left
Let me know you signed in and i’ll confirm the acces.
You are now on the NC WHPH - channel and can communicate with the crew during the shoot.
